Queen’s Birthday Garden Parties

Much fun was had by all this weekend as we celebrated the Queen’s 90th Birthday with a Garden Party at both Forest Oaks and Little Haven. Residents were joined by family and friends along with staff from the Wilverley Association to enjoy an afternoon tea with cakes that had been made or donated.

The raffle was hugely popular with some wonderful prizes donated including a number of tickets to local attractions, food hampers, wine and other gifts. In addition ‘Name the teddy’, ‘Guess the number of sweets in the jar’ and ‘How many sweets on the cake’ competitions added to the fun. Everyone went home with a prize, a full tummy or, in many cases, both!

The parties were held indoors due to the uncertain forecast but this didn’t put a dampener on the atmosphere.

All funds raised at both events will be put towards new garden seating areas at both homes. We are very grateful to all those who donated prizes, cakes or their time to help make these events so successful.
