Activities Team

Sue Winter is our full time Activities Co-ordinator and is assisted by Jessica Needham. Their knowledge of our residents and their particular likes and dislikes is essential to ensure that a fully inclusive activity programme is provided 7 days a week.

Sue and Jessica are very popular members of the team at Forest Oaks and go above and beyond to ensure all our residents are involved as much as they wish.

So much to do at Forest Oaks

Forest Oaks has a full weekly activities programme offering something for everyone whatever their needs or abilities. In addition to organised activities times are set aside for our activities team to visit our residents in their rooms for one-to-one support. Activity plans change each week and will include both in-house activities and external entertainers and speakers visiting the home.

Generally, the most popular activities at Forest Oaks include local choirs such as Octavius and the Sway Singers in addition to many entertainers. Team Scrabble matches are popular and also gentle exercise classes such as Tai Chi and armchair yoga.

In addition, the activities team support our residents to visit local community groups and cafes. Outside trips to the forest and local attractions are also available. Our residents have enjoyed trips on the river aboard the Alison Mcgregor.

Themed lunches are planned each month where the activities team work with the kitchen team to produce a fun and tasty lunch based on a chosen theme such as Chinese New Year, Bonfire Night or St George’s Day.

Holidays are celebrated at the home and Christmas is an especially busy time of year at Forest Oaks with visiting choirs, crafts, raffles and more.
