Residents and the staff team at Little Haven residential and nursing home in Dibden Purlieu presented a long service award to Health Care Assistant Christine Barnett. Christine has worked the night shift at Little Haven for the last 27 years and has been a real asset to the team, she originally chose to work nights as initially it suited her family life, but now it is a life style choice. Christine received a voucher for West Quay as a token of appreciation for her commitment and dedication to Little Haven and its residents.
When asked about her time at Little Haven and why she has stayed so long, Christine simply said:
“I have stayed at Little haven as it is a brilliant home, there have been many changes and I have accepted the changes as they have been applied. I have met some brilliant people, carers, nurses and residents.”
The Wilverley Association are proud to say that approximately 25% of employees across both homes (Little Haven in Dibden Purlieu and Forest Oaks in Brockenhurst) have been employed for over a decade. Only last month Lee Gough, Maintenance Technician at Forest Oaks celebrated his silver jubilee at the home.

This combined experience and knowledge is invaluable and we harness it and use it to support new staff, particularly those who are completely new to care work. Twenty-seven years continuous service is a massive achievement and something that we can all be proud of at The Wilverley.”
