Happy New Year!

The Wilverley Association wishes all residents, families, friends and staff a very Happy New Year.

It was a busy Christmas at both homes this year with many entertainers, activitites and celebrations enjoyed by all. A travelling pantomime visited Little Haven and performed Little Red Riding Hood; residents from Forest Oaks were also invited to attend. Forest Oaks had two singing groups, Octavious and Sway Singers, who performed both modern and traditional Christmas themed songs. Retro Rita performed her Christmas Cracker show to Little Haven residents and a staff carol concert was held on Christmas Eve. In addition local schools visited to sing carols, Christmas card making activities took place and residents enjoyed a Christmas raffle.

Little Haven also enjoyed a visit from Father Christmas himself on Christmas Day as presents were handed out to residents.

Decorations and trees were in abundance at both homes with a very festive nine Christmas Trees on display in the lounges, activities rooms and dining rooms.

Christmas is a nostalgic time with long held traditions and memories of Christmas’ past. Our staff know that whilst it can be a very happy and joyous time for some, for others it may not. Those who may be away from family or grieving for loved ones who have long since departed can struggle to enjoy Christmas.  We know how important it is to know each and every resident and understand what Christmas means to them. This way we can ensure that everyone is supported in the right way to have a good Christmas.

Now as we begin 2017, we look forward to the year ahead and all the exciting and wonderful things that are planned.
