Forest Oaks Summer Garden Party

Residents, staff, relatives and friends got together to enjoy the Forest Oaks Summer Garden Party 2015 at the end of July.  The weather was unfortunately not kind but in true British style, we didn’t let the downpour dampen our spirits.  We carried on regardless, setting up stalls and games throughout the downstairs.  We took over the sun lounge, dining room and salon, with visitors milling around, spilling out into all areas. The busy hum of activity was thoroughly enjoyed by all.  The cake decorating contest kindly judged by Retro Rita  was won by one of our residents. “Retro Rita” performed musical favourites from her ‘Stage and Screen Songbook’ which the residents in particular love.  Dave Crawford, our regular Tai Chi expert, came in to do a demonstration which residents and relatives both participated in.   The dog show went swimmingly, with rosettes being awarded for; naughtiest dog, best behaved and catch the sausage! The afternoon was great fun and we were pleased to have raised £275!
