Celebrating 25 Years at Forest Oaks

Today, Residents and staff members at Forest Oaks presented a 25 year service award to Lee Gough, the home’s Maintenance Technician. Lee joined Forest Oaks in 1993 and this month starts his 25th year with us.  As the our Maintenance Technician Lee has been responsible for looking after the general upkeep of the building ensuring that facilities and systems are regularly checked to ensure the safety of Residents and staff. Lee also helps Residents to settle in when they first arrive, ensuring that any electrical equipment they bring is in safe and working order and helping them move in some of their own furniture and belongings to make their room more homely and comfortable.

Lee was last year nominated for the Hampshire Hero Award for his forever cheerful “can do” attitude and his constant ability to identify improvements that will benefit the residents.

Lee was presented with a gift voucher as a token of the charity’s appreciation of his dedication and hard work at the Residents’ Meeting and long-time Resident Mrs Freda Brown kindly presented the voucher to Lee and thanked him on behalf of all the Residents at Forest Oaks.

Lisa Dillane, Chief Executive, commented,

“We are very proud to have Lee on our team and look forward to continue working with him here at Forest Oaks. Lee is popular with both staff and residents and we are very pleased to be able to thank him in this way. Twenty-five years is a big achievement and something to be proud of.”

Lee responded that he was looking forward to the next 25 years and very much enjoys his job at Forest Oaks.
