Second Vaccinations, St Patrick’s Day Celebrations and Outside Visits!

Dear residents, relatives, staff and friends of The Wilverley Association,

Once again I would like to thank you all for your continued support of The Wilverley Association through these difficult times. The spring sunshine has been very welcome and has given everyone in the homes an extra ‘spring in their step’!

I am very pleased to let you know that our residents and staff have had their second vaccination. We understand that we will have now built up more immunity, which is very reassuring.

As you know, the government announced that care home residents were allowed one regular visitor from 8th March, provided they are tested and wear PPE. The government has since announced that every care home resident can nominate up to 2 named visitors who will be able to enter the care home for regular visits from 12 April 2021 (and will be able to visit together or separately as preferred). Our home managers will communicate these arrangements with you. Please rest assured that we continue to maintain safe visiting, in line with government guidance.

Residents have continued to take part in the activities on offer 7 days a week in our homes.  Representatives from Little Haven had their first outdoor visit, which was to the local church to pin their hearts to the church display. It was lovely, some staff and residents felt quite emotional.  Forest Oaks are enjoying and discussing some new colourful art displayed on our walls created by local artists group Relational Art; we marked St Patrick’s Day; and we celebrated many residents’ birthdays (each one was different, based on how the resident wanted to spend their special day)!

Going forward, we are now starting to return to some degree of normality as the government restrictions start to ease further, whilst maintaining a happy, safe home for our residents and staff.

Best wishes

Pam
CEO
